Amazing Architecture • 2020
Baker's Lounge by Studio Ardete in Panchkula, Haryana, reimagines the traditional Indian sweet shop as a fusion of French bistro elegance and English patisserie charm. Spanning 2,265.3 ft², the minimalist yet visually rich design harmonizes functionality with aesthetics, catering to high footfall while delivering a unique retail experience. The project features art deco-inspired arches, monochromatic flooring, pastel ceilings, and gilded accents, evoking a colonial-era nostalgia infused with modern luxury. Dynamic spatial elements, such as chequered soffits and suspended luminaires, were meticulously crafted, with significant contributions made to 3D design and drawings, ensuring a seamless blend of form and function in this sensory journey.
Meltcrete Building: Redefining Commercial Façade Design with Sculptural Elegance | Studio Ardete
Pragya Singh @ Studio Ardete
Arch Daily • 2021
The Meltcrete Building by Studio Ardete, located in Mohali's JLPL Industrial Area, redefines commercial architecture with its distinctive façade and innovative use of materials. Designed for office and display spaces, the 9,000 ft² structure transforms a southwest-facing plot into a vibrant landmark, inspiring its industrial surroundings. The façade, crafted to resemble melting concrete, incorporates curvilinear concrete forms and fluted metal frames, creating a dynamic interplay of textures while doubling as balcony elements. Achieving grandeur within a limited budget of ₹1,000/sqft, the design balances aesthetic appeal with functionality, ensuring durability and minimal maintenance. The project draws inspiration from Le Corbusier's legacy, subtly embodying concrete poetry in its sculptural form. Significant contributions to the façade design elevated the building’s architectural identity, setting a new standard for corporate spaces in the region.
